1. What is Learning Grove Academy?At Learning Grove, we care for children ages 6 months to 6 years in a warm, nurturing environment that honours their natural curiosity and need for connection. We follow an emergent, play-based approach, which means we build our curriculum around the children—what they’re interested in, how they learn best, and what lights them up. Our classrooms are calm, welcoming spaces where children feel safe and at home. We spend time outside every day, because we believe nature plays an important role in Childhood.

What age groups do you accept?We accept children in the following age groups: Infants: 6 to 18 months Toddlers: 18 months to 2.5 years Preschoolers: 2.5 to 4 years Kindergarten: 3.5 to 6 years Each group is supported by caring educators who create a rhythm of the day that works for that developmental stage.

3. Are you part of the CWELCC program?Yes, we are enrolled in the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) system. This allows us to offer reduced fees to families while continuing to provide high- quality care and learning.

4. What are your educators’ qualifications?Our educators include Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs) and experienced assistants who are passionate about early years education. All staff are certified in First Aid and CPR-C, have completed criminal background checks, and bring warmth, patience, and genuine care into every interaction with children and families.

What is the child-to-educator ratio?We maintain low educator-to-child ratios to foster strong relationships and a calm, responsive environment: Infants: 1 educator for every 3 children Toddlers: 1 educator for every 5 children Preschoolers: 1 educator for every 8 children Kindergarten: 1 educator for every 13 children

6. What are your operating hours?We are open Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

7. How can I enroll my child at Learning Grove Academy?To start the enrollment process, please join our waitlist through our website. Once we receive your application, our team will reach out to schedule a tour and a meeting, so we can learn more about your child and walk you through the next steps.

8. Do you offer nutritious meals?Yes! We provide one hot lunch and two nutritious snacks each day, all freshly prepared on-site by our in-house chef. Our menu features whole, high-quality ingredients and are thoughtfully designed to support healthy growth, energy for play, and overall well-being. We accommodate allergies, dietary restrictions, and offer vegetarian options to ensure every child feels included and well-nourished.

9. Is there outdoor playtime at Learning Grove Academy?Absolutely. Outdoor play is a valued part of our daily routine at Learning Grove. Children spend around two hours outside each day, weather permitting, because we believe time in nature supports physical health, emotional well-being, and meaningful connection to the world around them. Our outdoor space is thoughtfully designed to promote movement, exploration, creativity, and unstructured play. When weather conditions aren’t suitable for outdoor time, children stay active in our gross motor room—a dedicated space filled with opportunities for physical activity, movement, and energetic play, no matter the season.

10. How do you communicate with parents?We believe in open, two-way communication. Families receive daily updates through our parent app, regular photos and notes, monthly newsletters, and ongoing opportunities to connect with educators. We want you to feel informed and involved.
