Programs & Curriculum

Welcome to Learning Grove Academy

At Learning Grove Academy, we believe every child is unique and grows at their own pace. We also believe that children learn best through play and hands-on exploration, which is why our environment is thoughtfully designed to support active, engaged learning. We believe the environment can act as a third teacher, allowing children to explore in a supportive and active manner.

To honor each child’s individuality and curiosity, we follow an Emergent Play Based Curriculum—an approach that builds learning experiences around the interests, questions, and developmental stages of the children themselves. Instead of adhering to a fixed plan, our educators observe, listen, and reflect each day to create meaningful, responsive activities that grow directly from what children are naturally drawn to.

We provide a safe, supportive space where children can grow in all areas—physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually. Each day includes both indoor and outdoor play, as well as individual and group activities. Children enjoy a minimum of two hours of outdoor play every day, weather permitting, where they can explore, move, and connect with peers.

Our healthy, home-style cooked meals help fuel busy bodies and curious minds. We aim to create an environment where every child feels seen, valued, and encouraged to express themselves fully.

At Learning Grove Academy, we are committed to giving children the best start for lifelong learning, helping them grow into strong, curious, and kind individuals.

Infant Room (6–18 Months)

At Learning Grove Academy, our Infant Room offers a nurturing and safe environment for our youngest learners, starting at just 6 months old. With a maximum of 10 infants and a 3:1 child-to-teacher ratio. Each child receives personalized attention and loving care from our dedicated team of three experienced educators.

We focus on building strong emotional bonds, encouraging early development through age-appropriate activities designed to support your child’s natural curiosity while providing the structure and comfort they need during this important stage.

Once your little one turns 18 months, they’ll be ready to transition into our Toddler Program, where their journey of learning and discovery continues.

Toddler Room (18 Months – 2.5 Years)

Our Toddler Room is designed for curious, energetic little ones who are ready to explore their world with growing independence. Serving children from 18 months to 2.5 years old, this classroom offers a warm, structured environment where toddlers can thrive with the support of three nurturing educators at a 1:5 child-to-teacher ratio and a maximum class size of 15.

At this stage, we focus on developing motor skills and early language through hands-on activities, music, movement, and interactive play. Every day is filled with opportunities for learning—whether it’s stacking blocks, naming colors, or practicing self-help skills. Our goal is to help each child build confidence, express themselves, and prepare for the next stage in their journey.

Preschool Room (2.5 – 4 Years)

Our Preschool Room is where growing minds begin to blossom! Designed for children ages 2.5 to 4 years, this program supports the exciting transition from toddlerhood to early childhood. With two caring educators and a maximum of 16 children, our 1:8 child-to-teacher ratio ensures that each child gets the attention and guidance they need.

In preschool, we focus on building foundational literacy and social-emotional skills through play-based learning, storytelling, group activities, and daily routines. Children begin to recognize letters, express their thoughts, and form friendships while learning important values like cooperation, empathy, and independence. It’s a joyful space where curiosity is encouraged and confidence begins to shine.

kindergarten

Kindergarten Room (3.5 – 6 Years)

Our Kindergarten Room is thoughtfully designed to prepare children ages 3.5 to 6 years for a confident and successful transition into elementary school. With two dedicated educators and a maximum of 26 children, we maintain a 1:13 child-to-teacher ratio to ensure each child receives the support they need during these crucial early years.

We focus on supporting children through early learning experiences that promote kindergarten readiness. This includes developing foundational skills such as scissor use, letter recognition, name tracing, and early numeracy—all introduced through play-based, hands-on activities that align with our Emergent Play Based Curriculum.

Our Kindergarten program encourages curiosity, responsibility, and a love of learning—setting essential skills they need for a smooth transition into elementary school.
